Guthrie Hospice Vestal
Guthrie Hospice Vestal helps individuals with terminal illnesses live life to its fullest, up to the final moment. Both in care centers or at home, their care teams help patients receive comfort and care when a cure is no longer possible.
Guthrie Hospice focus specifically on comfort, dignity and pain control by responding to the symptoms, needs and wishes of patients and their families.
Their goal is to help each patient live each day to its fullest enabling them to remain in a familiar and supportive environment surrounded by people they love and possessions they cherish.

Mercy House of the
Southern Tier
Mercy House provides a home and a supportive family to people with terminal illnesses who can no longer remain at home. Residents spend their final days surrounded by their loved ones, and the love of Mercy House staff and volunteers. The mission of Mercy House is to unconditionally accept each resident and ensure that they are treated with dignity, respect and compassion.
Make-A-Wish of
Central New York
Make-A-Wish Central New York is dedicated to creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. A wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. The organization is able to continue to share the power of a wish thanks to monetary contributions, airline mile donations, and the overall generous support of individuals and corporations throughout their 15-county region, which includes Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, St. Lawrence, Tioga and Tompkins counties.
Traci's Hope
Traci’s Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping local men and women navigate the many challenges that come with a breast cancer diagnosis.
While insurance may cover medical treatment, there are often countless needs that arise beyond the cost of medical care. Traci’s Hope provides financial assistance for essential expenses such as gas cards, childcare, house cleaning, and mortgage payments—helping ease the burden during an already difficult time.
The needs of someone facing breast cancer can be overwhelming and ever-changing. Traci’s Hope is committed to making sure no one has to face those challenges alone. Through compassion, financial assistance, and community support, the organization helps provide the resources individuals and families need while they focus on their health and healing.
Traci’s Hope was inspired by the support Traci herself was so fortunate to receive and continues that spirit of kindness by offering hope and meaningful assistance to others facing breast cancer in our community.
Shady Strong
Founded in 2019, Shady Strong was created from a simple yet powerful idea: no individual or family living with ALS should have to face the journey alone. Inspired by the enduring legacy of compassion, service, and generosity of the founders’ father, Robert J. “Bob” Shady, Shady Strong carries his spirit forward by supporting families and helping meet the needs that often go beyond medical care.
Shady Strong works at the grassroots level to help fill gaps in available services and provide meaningful support where it is needed most. The organization assists families through financial support, equipment donations, caregiver resources, mentorship opportunities, and community events designed to create connection and reduce the isolation that can accompany an ALS diagnosis.
What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a community of hope, compassion, and solidarity. Shady Strong continues to honor Bob Shady’s legacy by uplifting families, strengthening connections, and making a lasting impact in New York and beyond.
Right Beside You
Right Beside You was founded in 2015 by two Owego women who became fully trained & Certified Doulas, to provided non-medical support to end-of-life patients in the greater Owego area. They work to provide the emotional, spiritual, and physical support leading to a loved one’s beautiful passing.
All services are 100% Volunteer & Free and supported by generous donations & grants from our wonderful community.
Ronald McDonald House
The Ronald McDonald House in Central New York was built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their sick child. After all, families are stronger when they are together.
The Ronald McDonald House offers families with comfort, support and resources, along with the opportunity to connect with others who truly understand what it’s like to face the unthinkable.
Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the Ronald McDonald House is just minutes from area hospitals and provides families with a place to stay at no cost. Each guest room includes a private bathroom, phone, cable TV and Wi-Fi, as well as bed linens and towels.
