How 'Friends' Can Help

Tioga County Friends of Hospice was founded in 1993 to serve as the fundraising arm for the county-based hospice group at that time.  After Lourdes took over from the county, FOH continues to raise funds that are used to help with the incidentals to ease the needs of patients in the Lourdes Hospice program.  FOH also supports Traci’s Hope, and Make-A-Wish Foundation. FOH accepts donations throughout the year during fundraising campaigns, as memorials and as a regular donation at any time."
Lourdes Hospice

Lourdes Hospice has helped individuals with terminal illnesses live life to its fullest, up to the final moment since 1980. It is about receiving comfort and care when a cure is no longer possible. We focus specifically on comfort, dignity, and pain control by responding to the symptoms, needs and wishes of patients and their families. Our goal is to help each patient live each day to its fullest enabling them to remain in a familiar and supportive environment surrounded by people they love and possessions they cherish.  Read more >

Traci's Hope

Traci's Hope is a not-for-profit fund set up to help men and women who are going through breast cancer in our area. They pay for many different services that insurance companies don't pay for. Sometimes it is gas cards, or day care. Sometimes it is house cleaning, or mortgage payments. While fighting this disease, the needs could be endless, and nobody should have to do it alone. Traci's Hope is here to make sure everyone gets the support Traci was so blessed with.   Read more >

Make-A-Wish

When Friends of Hospice learns about a child with a wish, the Board of Directors then come together and consider whether there is anything the Friends of Hospice can do to help. 'Friends' tries to support every wish from Tioga County. They try to fulfill one wish a year, sometimes two.   Read more >
